One in three Americans suffer the mental stresses of a poor nights sleep and the related health effects of hypoxia (low blood oxygen) that can shorten your life span by 10 years. The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of dentistry’s role in treating sleep disorders.   Dr. Haworth is a member of this important organization.

 

The ABCD program provides a dental home for Medicaid children ages 0-6 years and Dr. Haworth is the Clallam & Jefferson county ABCD champion. This means he recruits and provides training for local dentists for treating eligible children.

 

My staff and I volunteer in free dental clinics from Brinnon to Clallam Bay with OLYCAP and  VIMO. Both of these local organizations have great staffs and do good work for all of us.

 

The AGD stresses high continuing education standards for its members. Dr. Haworth has attained Mastership (MAGD) in the AGD by completing education requirements including written testing and over 1600 hours of dental course work.

 

The WAGD is involved in providing quality courses and study groups for practicing dentists in our state and region and in supporting the dental school and dental students at the University of Washington. Dr. Haworth is a Past President and Past Secretary/Treasurer of the WAGD.

 

The ADA and the WASHINGTON STATE DENTAL ASSOCIATION represent the profession of dentistry and support programs to improve access to care for those who cannot afford routine dental care.

 

Dr. Haworth was elected as a Fellow of the ACADEMY OF DENTISTRY INTERNATIONAL , in 2006. This organization supports philanthropic dental missions in the United States and around the world as well as dental school education in second and third world countries.

 

The AMERICAN COLLEGE OF DENTISTS elected Dr. Haworth a Fellow at their convocation in San Antonio, TX in 2008. The College supports programs for education and promotion of ethics in the dental profession.

 

MENNONITE DISASTER SERVICES is a mission organization that responds to areas hit by natural disasters. Their main focus is on cleanup, repair and rebuilding of homes as a means of touching lives and restoring wholeness. Dr. Haworth has been volunteering on home construction mission trips in the United States since 2007.
